Cultural heritage preservation
the legacy of physical artifacts and intangible attributes of a group or society that are inherited from past generations
Intercultural dialogue
a conversation or exchange of ideas between people from different cultural backgrounds, with the goal of promoting understanding and mutual respect. It involves discussing and sharing perspectives on cultural values, beliefs, and practices.
Diversity
the practice or quality of including or involving people from a range of different social and ethnic backgrounds and of different genders, sexual orientations, etc.
Cultural exchange
the sharing of cultural practices, beliefs, and values between different groups, to promote cooperation and understanding
Cultural sensitivity
the awareness and respect for cultural differences and the impact of one’s actions on other cultures
Indigenous knowledge systems
the traditional knowledge and practices of indigenous communities that have been passed down through generations
Cultural appropriation
the adoption of elements of one culture by members of another culture without permission
Cultural revitalization
the process of restoring, preserving, and promoting cultural practices, traditions, and beliefs that may have been lost or endangered.
Cultural identity
the feeling of belonging to a particular culture or group, and the shared values, traditions, and customs that define that group.
Cultural sustainability
the ability of a culture to maintain and preserve its traditions, practices, and beliefs over time, while adapting to changing circumstances and influences.
Multiculturalism
the presence of, or support for the presence of, several distinct cultural or ethnic groups within a society.
Globalization
the process by which businesses or other organizations develop international influence or start operating on an international scale
Inclusivity
the practice or policy of including people who might otherwise be excluded or marginalized, such as those who have disabilities or are members of minority groups.
Intersectionality
the interconnected nature of social categorizations such as race, class, and gender as they apply to a given individual or group, regarded as creating overlapping and interdependent systems of discrimination or disadvantage.
Ethnocentrism
evaluation of other cultures according to preconceptions originating in the standards and customs of one’s own culture.
