what is cultural diversity?
cultural diversity is how every culture has different norms, values, beliefs and traditions
what is cultural hybridity?
it is when two or more cultures merge together
how can someone have cultural hybridity?
if they are british and asian, they will have behaviours that are from either culture
what did Margaret Mead find in her study of the Hamar tribe?
male and female behaviour differed between tribes e.g. both genders are dominant, both were gentle or even gender role expectations being reversed
what did Mead say about culture?
it is a complex whole of traditional behaviour which has been developed by the human race and is learned by each generation
what is an example of norms and values changing over time?
smoking indoors used to be widely accepted but after the realization of the health risks, it became more deviant to smoke

intercultural diversity is diversity between cultures
