  2. sacrifice for everyone, including strangers
  3. 2 parts: generosity even at the expense of yourself, and trust even at the expense of risk
  4. listen to others; be open to the idea that you’re wrong and they’re right
  5. express ourselves in a way that demonstrates respect for others
