the study of contemporary and recent historical cultures all over the world. the focus is on social organization, cultural change, economic and political systems, and religion.

The study of human history and prehistory through the excavation of sites and the analysis of artifacts and other physical remains

Cultural norms
shared beliefs, or values and the human behaviours that support these values. The norm refers to the attitude and behaviours that are considered typical or average for a social group while beliefs are often referred to as values
Cultural values
value is defined as the worth of importance of something in relation to other things. Value is assigned to concepts, ideas, people and objects and helps guide a person to make choices in life.
Why are values important to culture?
Values guide how a person interacts with the world around them by aiding the person in choosing actions that reflects their perceptions

a set of actions, often symbolic, that are performed in a specific order imbued with cultural, religious,or social significance.
example weddings or funerals
Symbols
objects, figures, sounds, gestures, or other forms of representation that carry particular meanings within a culture.
Material culture
physical objects that people create and give meaning to.
Ex cars, clothing, schools
Non material culture
consists of thought and behaviours that people learn as part of the culture they live in
