TV can cultivate a certain view of the world

People who are heavy viewers start thinking that the world is mean and that everyone is just out for themselves

mainstreaming-people who have two different experiences of the real world feel closer because they are watching the same reality TV
resonance- when what we see on TV resonates without lived in experiences
