Three CC members roles in firefighting
Firefighter (first to see fire)
Communicator (2nd to arrive?”, with flight deck)
Coordinator (takes charge of situation, brings equipment)
Toilet fire actions
Check with caution if fire is present.
If present:
- crouch down l
- assess situation and adapt actions
- open door slowly a few cms.
-If critical, discharge entire fire extinguisher, close door and leave for 1 min.
- if not at critical stage, locate fire source and check all surrounding areas for fire (lav bin etc.)
Fire in locker?
- Check for hot spots with back of hand
- Partially open locker and discharge fire extinguisher in seeeping motion,
- Close locker and monitor
- reopen, check fire is out, and move other bags-
- Check other lockers
Electrical fire procedures?
Isolate electrics using CC or captain cbs if needed
Switch of galley electrics for rest of flight
If flames, discharge extinguisher to source (possibly around edge of equip to access)
Water can’t be used
How many portable oxygens?
A319/320: 6
A321: 7
How many fire extinguishers?
Where are they located?
A319/320: 4 (1 in FD, 1 in fwd galley, 2 at rear)
A319/320: 5 (1 in FD, 1 at front near CC1 seat, 1 by overlong exit, 2 at rear)
