CSG - ESG Flashcards
What is the composition of a typical CSG?
1x CVN, 2x DDG, 1x Logistics. can be a sub sometimes.
What are the major platforms (surface, subsurface, air) and their roles for a CSG?
CVN - supporting combat operations for a carrier air wing. Primary mission is strike. DDG - IAMD, AAW, ASuW, and ASW. CG - IAMD, AAW, ASuW, and ASW - these are going away. FFG(x) - Air Defense/ASW/ASuW - not in a CSG at the moment. Logistics - Fuel, Dry goods, ammo
Describe the composition of an ESG
1x Amphib Assault (LHA/LHD) - Big deck amphib, 2x DDG, 1x Amphib Transport Dock (LPD), 1x Amphib Dock Landing (LSD), 2x FFG(x)*, 1x Logisitics
What are the major platforms and the roles of those platforms of an ESG?
