CVN - supporting combat operations for a carrier air wing. Primary mission is strike. DDG - IAMD, AAW, ASuW, and ASW. CG - IAMD, AAW, ASuW, and ASW - these are going away. FFG(x) - Air Defense/ASW/ASuW - not in a CSG at the moment. Logistics - Fuel, Dry goods, ammo

MEU(SOC) - MEU that is Special Operations Certified (not under TSOC command).

LPD - carries more people - has more berthing space.
LSD - carries more stuff - has more storage space

It’s the flagship of the ESG. It’s mission is amphibious assaults with an embarked MEU

Amphibious Assault. LHDs also have a well deck for allowing LCACs to depart. Additionally, their flight deck can handle MV-22B Ospreys

A

They carry People and things for the Marines. LPDs have more berthing space. They have a well deck that allows use of LCACs and the flight deck can handle an MV-22B Osprey

A

They carry stuff/supplies and people. They have more space for supplies where LPDs have more space for people. LSDs also have a well deck which allows for use of LCACs or LCUs.
