Q

How does an erection occur?

A

An erection starts in your brain. Based on what you’ve seen, felt, smelled, heard, or thought makes your nerves send chemical messages to the blood vessels in your penis. The arteries relax and open up to let more blood flow in; at the same time, the veins close up. Once blood is in the penis, pressure traps it within the corpora cavernosa. Your penis expands and holds the erection.

9
Q

How does ejaculation help with pregnancy?

A

Sperm being released directly into the vagina increases the probability of pregnancy because it allows some of the sperm to travel safely to the ovum.

17
Q

Which of the following foods help with the regrowth of muscle tissues? fish, plantains, carrots, lentil peas.

A

fish and lentil peas.

18
Q

What is Diffusion?

A

Diffusion is the movement of molecules from a region of higher concentration to a region of lower concentration down the concentration gradient.

19
Q

What is Osmosis?

A

Osmosis is a process by which the molecules of a solvent pass from a solution of low concentration to a solution of high concentration through a semi-permeable membrane

20
Q

What are the 3 functions of the Villus?

A
  • Their function is to increase the surface area of the small intestinal wall for absorption of the digested food.
  • These projections absorb the protein molecules and help in the transfer of the proteins to all cells and tissues.
  • Many blood vessels are present within these villi, that help in the absorption of digested food and carry it to the bloodstream. Later, from the bloodstream, the absorbed food is delivered to each and every cell of the body.
21
Q

Where is villus located?

A

These are located in the inner walls of the small intestine.

22
Q

What is Inspiration?

A

The drawing in of breath; inhalation.

23
Q

What occurs during Inspiration?

A

During the inspiration process, the diaphragm contracts and pulls downward, while the muscles between the ribs contract and pull upward. This activity increases the size of the thoracic cavity and decreases its pressure. As a result, air rushes into the lungs and fills it immediately.

24
Q

What is Mitosis and Meiosis?

A
  • Meiosis is a type of cell division that results in four cells, each having ½ the chromosomes of the original cell.
  • Mitosis is a form of cell division where the cell splits into two, each identical to the original cell.
25
Q

Two types of sex chromosomes passed from a male to its offsprings.

A

X and Y chromosomes.
