What is crude oil a mixture of

Hydrocarbons with different chain lengths.

Why do small molecules require less energy to break apart and have lower boiling points.
A
Because they have a weak intermolecular force. If they were longer, bigger molecules they would have a stronger force and require more energy to break apart as well as have a higher boiling point.
