URTI - with barking cough, inspiration strider

Symptoms - mild, mod, severe

Answer 2

Mild: inspiratory stridor on activity, barking cough

Moderate: inspiratory stridor on rest, mild-mod WOB, placated and interested in surroundings

Severe: inspiratory stridor on rest, mod to severe WOB, apathetic/restless, cyanosis

Question 3

Management of croup - mild, moderate, severe

Answer 3

Mild: nothing! Will resolve in a week or two

Moderate: Corticosteroids - dexamethasone or pred 1mg/kg

Severe: corticosteroids and nebuliser adrenaline (5ml, 1 in 1000), oxygen
