What is the treatment for croup

Answer 2

Mild: single dexamethasone dose oral in community setting

Moderate-severe:
-Hospital admission
-Single dose of dexamethasone or prednisolone given orally whilst waiting admission
-If you can’t take oral: IM dexamethasone or nebulised budesonide
-Severe not controlled by steroids: nebulised adrenaline/ epinephrine
