To stop rebellions, reward parliament’s supporters, to punish the king of Drogheda’s supporters and land for money.
What are the views on Cromwell and why?
A lot of Protestants think he is a saviour, because he awarded the English and punished the Irish for the 1641 rebellion, and also gave them land and money. A lot of Catholic’s think he is a sectarian, cruel man because he killed so many of their people and put others at the top social tier.
