- Role is to regulate
- Protecting the public through the regulation of registered nurses and nurse practitioners.
- Establish & maintain professional conduct review process.

A
- Means the public- and the government that represents them- give RNs and NPs the authority to oversee the professional services provided by their peers.
- Regulation helps to protect the public by ensuring that professional care or service received by the public is competent, ethical and meets the standards that society views as acceptable.
