CRJ 200 Panels & Systems Flashcards
TIE 1
Illuminates when DC bus 1 is not powered from its normal source. The service TRU or TRU 2 powers DC bus 1
TIE 2
Illuminates when DC bus 2 is not powered from its normal source. The service TRU or TRU 1 powers DC bus 2
ESS BUS TIE
When pressed in ties the SERV TRU to the DC Essential and Battery Bus during an Essential TRU 2 failure
- ESS TIE can only be selected manually
AC ESS XFER
Illuminated when the AC Essential Bus is not powered by its normal source AC Bus 1 but AC Bus 2
- If AC BUS 1 and 2 are not powered battery is the power source
Air Conditioning - Fault
Illuminates when an over pressure or high temperature has been detected in the pack
Windshield Heat
Low - Applies low heat to 24 degrees
High - Applies high heat to 41 degrees
- Side Windows are heated to 24 degrees
EMERGENCY LIGHTS SWITCH
ON - Turns On all Emergency Lights
OFF - Prevents the emergency lights from illuminating when electing power is loss or off
ARM - Interior and Exterior emergency lights illuminate when DC ESS power fails or OFF
DC SERVICE
Powers the DC Service Bus from the Battery when it has no other power source
BATTERY MASTER
On - Power the Battery Bus from both batteries
AUTO XFER
FAIL - A GCU has disabled a generator auto transfer due to an over current condition
Switchlight isolates AC Bus 1 or AC Bus 2 from being powered from any other source other than its onside Generator
Pressed In - Auto transfer has been manually disabled for the associated main AC Bus
IDG 1, 2 DISC
FAULT - HOTLOP in the Constant Speed Drive
DISC - IDG has disconnected from the accessory gear box due to over temperature or over torque
Pressed In - To manually disconnect the IDG
FIRE DETECTION
WARN - Simulates a fire. Tests loop continuity and the ability to detect a fire on all engine loops, all jet pipe loops, and the APU loops
FAIL: Simulates a short. Tests the short discriminator circuit on all engine loops, all jet pipe loops, and the APU loops
POWER/FUEL
PRESSED IN: The APU ECU is powered,
APU fuel SOV opens, APU door opens,
APU gauges appear on EICAS.
PUMP FAIL: The APU/CROSSFLOW pump
has failed.
SOV FAIL: The APU fuel SOV has failed.
HYDRAULIC
ON: (Ground) Selected electric hydraulic pump will operate as long as any AC
power source is available.
(Flight) Selected electric hydraulic pump will operate as it’s power source is available.
*Pumps 1B and 2B require that the cross-side IDG is operating.
HYDRAULIC PUMPS AUTO
Selected electric hydraulic pump will operate automatically when the flaps are not retracted and it’s power source is available.
- Pumps 1B and 2B require that the cross-side IDG is operating
PRESSURIZATION CONTROL
PRESSED IN/MAN: Select manual pressurization mode
FAULT: Both cabin pressure controllers
have failed
IDG will automatically disconnect
When an overtemperature or overtorque condition occurs
In the event of a complete AC power failure in flight
The ADG bus will then supply emergency power to the AC essential bus and the 3B hydraulic pump
*The AC essential bus will then power essential TRU 1, which will power the DC essential business
What is the Function of the APU
To Provide Electrical Power (30kva)
Air Conditioning
Bleed Air for Engine Start
Can you start the APU with a Main Battery failure?
No, both batteries are required.
DC external power can be used to start the APU
When does the CVR start recording?
When Electrical power is supplied to the aircraft
When does the FDR start recording?
Beacon, strobes or Weight Off Wheels
What voltage of electrical power does the CRJ use?
115 V AC and 28 V DC
What are the primary sources of AC electrical power?
Two engine-driven Integrated Drive Generators (IDGs)
What is the nominal rating of each Engine-Driven Generator
CRJ200: 30 kVA from 0 to 35,000 feet
25 kVA above 35,000 feet.
CRJ700: 40 kVA from 0 to 41,000 feet
What is an IDG made off?
A Constant Speed Drive and a Generator
