A schema for identifying steps of an argument
Standard form
A discussion in which reasons are advanced in favour of a proposal.
A set of reasons/evidence or premises that are given in support of a conclusion.

Deductive argument
An argument that draws its conclusion about one thing by its likeness to another thing
Argument by analogy
These are dangerous because they are highly persuasive even when incorrect.
When the premises imply the conclusion such that if the premises are true the conclusion has to be true.
Validity of argument
A deductive argument incorrectly formed
Invalid argument
Line of argument that produces only a probable conclusion.
The truth of the premises does not guarantee the truth of the conclusion
Inductive argument
