  • cover the patient and protect them from unnecessary exposure
  • same gender responder if possible
  • clear by standard/family
  • discourage from shower, changing, douching
  • treat as crime scene

Serious medical condition reflecting a disturbance in the brain function.
- loss of contact w/ reality
- False beliefs
- hallucinations, mania
- confused, disconnected thoughts
- suicidal ideation

  • work with their hallucinations, do not ignore (reasoning will likely be ineffective)
