- people did all that they could: they camped out
- camping out meant a lot because a lot of disabled people went without the assistance they need, but they were willing to do whatever it took to be heard
- the media often ignored them
- eventually, the section was signed
- still, even after it was signed, it was a struggle to enforce it
what is the goal of the center for independent living (CIL)?
get disabled people into independent living/help them in general.
what is the americans with disabilities act?
a bill that mandates equal access for disabled people for employment, transportation, etc.
