What are summary offences? Give two examples.

Summary offences are the least serious ‘petty crimes’, tried at the magistrates’ court. E.g. assault, traffic offences.

What are triable either-way offences? Give two examples.
A
Triable-either-way offences may be tried at the magistrates’ court or the crown court depending on the circumstances of the case. E.g. ABH and theft.
