A
  • Poverty, some people will turn to crime to meet basic needs. For example; 25% of all crimes of dishonesty was people stealing basic items.
  • Unemployment, some people may be unable to make money legally. For example; areas with higher rates of unemployment have higher crime rates.

A

-Mental Disorder, some people with mental disorders like phsycopathy may lack remorse for others. For example, Aaron Campbell who killed a six year old girl was deemed a psycopath.

Describe, in detail, two social cause for crime.

A
  • Alcohol abuse, alcohol can distort someone’s view of right and wrong. For example 2/3 of all violent crime is committed under the influence.
  • PEER pressure, the desire to fit in to a group may cause someone to commit crime. For example; underage drinking and smoking.
