Describe 2 features of the Whitechapel Vigilance Committee.
- This was a volunteer group formed to offer protection to people in Whitechapel area 1888, in response to Jack the Ripper’s activities;
- The committee asked the government to offer a reward for information about the killer. When the government refused, the committee put up its own reward.

Describe two features of hosing in Whitechapel between 1870-1900.
1-It was of a very low quality. For example rookeries had lots of lodging houses which were cramped and unsanitary.
2-The attempts to clear our slum. For example after the Dwelling Act in 1875, George Peabody founded the building of new flats which had better ventilation and plumbing.
Describe two features of ‘sweated trades’
1-The pay which was taked of workers , or ‘slaves’ from Whitechapel, because this workers was paid so bad,and don’t take enough food to live a longer and healthy life.
2-The Whitechapel people type of living, a poor and a life of prison, homeless, dirty houses and no enough money for living with a family
Why did the Northern Earls rebel?
Because the Protestantism was strengthening its grip on the country, and Mary Queen of Scots was available as a possible alternate ruler, and her cause was championed by factions who felt frozen out of power
