A

All my songs were based around historical events, so i wanted to make sure I understood the environment the character was in and knew the things the character would know

Q

what was the motivation behind doing emotional understanding

A

ive always believed that every emotion ever felt is different, as each one has always had different specific contexts leading up to it, so i wanted ot understand exactly what each character was feeling.

Q

how was lyrical analysis particularly helpful in why god why

A

its very metaphorical and abstract a lot for the time, so understanding what each specific line meant meant i was able to draw some really interesting conclusions about. the emotions Chris goes through in that song.

Q

how did emotional understanding massively contribute to the performances?

A

movement
my method for blocking movement was to get into character and just start performing, just moving with the song whilst being the character to try and see what they would do
i kept a track of what i did and didnt like and would redo it with what i liked trying to find really character based actions
in-character improvsation!!
