Cranial- Sandhouse Flashcards
Cranial Rhythmic Impluse (CRI) is driven by the Primary Respiratory Mechanism (RPM). What does this mean?
There is a cyclic movement of the cranium, sacrum and body thought to be an inherit motility of the brain.
How many cycles per minute are CRIs
6-10 cycles/minute
What is the Traub-Hering Mayer theory?
Slow fluctuations in blood flow parameters of cortex.
According to Heisey and Adams: in a cat model, how many microns of lateral movement are there at the sagittal suture?
30-70 microns
According to Heisey and Adams: in a cat model, how many microns of lateral movement are there at the parietal suture?
250 microns
According to early data on CRI, are changes symmetrical?
NO. not symmetrical (this makes sense because the body isn’t symmetrical)
[TQ} According to a study, at what level (in microns) are 100% of people able to detect movements?
45 microns
When you just do use active motion testing of the SBS (not putting motion into the system), does it mean change anything?
Yes. it still changes. Sandhouse did a study in it (so it’s probably important)
