SVA: special sense of smell
CN II: optic
SVA: special sense of vision
CN III: oculomotor
GSE: motor innervation to superior, medial, & inferior recti, inferior oblique, and levator palpebrae superioris
GVE: parasympathetic to sphincter pupillae (constrict pupil) & ciliary muscle (accomodation)
CN IV: trochlear
GSE: motor innervation to superior oblique
CN VI: Abducens
GSE: motor innervation to the lateral rectus
CN V: trigeminal
SVE: motor innervation to muscles of mastication
GSA: sensory to face and scalp
CN V1: ophthalmic division
sensation from cornea, skin of forehead & scalp, upper eyelid, part of nose and part of nasal cavity, paranasal sinuses
CN V2: maxillary division
sensation form skin of face, lower eyelid, cheek, upper lip, maxillary teeth, mucosa of nose, maxillary sinus & palate
CN V3: mandibular division
sensation from skin of mandible, lower lip, mandibular teeth, TM joint, mucosa of mouth and anterior 2/3 of tongue
& motor of muscle of mastication, mylohyoid, anterior belly of digastric, tensor veli palatini, and tensor tympani
CN VII: facial
SVE: motor innervation to the muscles of facial expression, stapedius of middle ear, stylohyid, and posterior belly of digastric M
GVE: parasympathetic innervation to lacrimal, nasal, submandibular & sublingual glands
SVA: taste to anterior 2/3 of tongue via chorda tympani and palate
GSA: sensation to external acoustic meatus
CN VIII: vestibulocochlear
SSA: special sense of hearing and equilibrium
vestibular sensation from semicircular ducts, utricle, and saccule related to position of head
hearing from spiral organ
CN IX: glossopharyngeal
GSA: sensation from external ear and external auditory canal, and posterior 1/3 of tongue
GVA: sensory info from parotid gland, and carotid body (and sinus), pharynx, and middle ear
SVA: taste to posterior 1/3 of tongue
GVE: parasympathetics to parotid gland
SVE: motor to stylopharyngeus muscles–swallowing
CN X: vagus
GSA: sensation from external auditory canal and dura mater from posterior cranial fossa
GVA: sensory info from viscera, pharynx, larynx, aortic arch, epiglottis, and base of tongue
SVA: taste from epiglottis and palate
GVE: para to viscera
SVE: motor to constrictors of pharynx, palatine muscles, and intrinsic muscle of larynx
CN XI: spinal accessory
GSE: motor to sternocleidomastoid and trapezius
CN XII: hypoglossal
GSE: motor to intrinsic tongue muscles and styloglossus, hyoglossus, and genioglossus
