Branches of the mandibular trigeminal (CNV3)
Auriculotemporal nerve; parotid branches; masseteric nerve; medial pterygoid nerve; lingual nerve; buccal nerve; inferior alveolar nerve; lateral pterygoid nerve; deep temporal nerve; mental nerve.
Branches of the ophthalmic trigeminal (CNV1)
Supraorbital nerve; supratrochlear nerve; lacrimal nerve; frontal nerve; posterior/anterior ethmoidal nerve.
Branches of the maxillary trigeminal (CNV2)
Infraorbital nerve; posterior/middle/anterior superior alveolar nerve.
Branches of the facial nerve (VII)
Zygomatic; buccal; marginal mandibular; tempora; cervical..
Olfactory Nerve (I)
Special Sensory; gives us our sense of smell.
Optic Nerve (II)
Special Sensory; gives us our sense of sight.
Oculomotor (III)
Voluntary and involuntary motor innervation; movement of the eye, pupil constriction/dilation; accomodation.
Trochlear (IV)
Voluntary muscle innervation; superior oblique muscle (down and out).
Ophthalmic Trigeminal (V1)
Sensation of area V1.
Maxillary Trigemial (V2)
Sensation of area V2.
Mandibular Trigeminal (V3)
Sensation of area V3; voluntary motor innervation of the muscles of mastication.
Abducent (VI)
Voluntary motor innervation; lateral rectus muscle (outward rotation).
Facial (VII)
Sensation; special sense (taste of the anterior 2/3); involuntary innervation of glands; voluntary motor innervation of the muscles of facial expression.
Vestibulocochlear (VIII)
Special sensation of hearing and balance.
Glossopharyngeal (IX)
Special sensation (taste to the posterior 2/3); sensory input from the carotid body and sinus; sensation of the oropharynx, auditory tube and the posterior tongue.
