diagnosis

A
  • water deprivation test (give desmopressin). should be Ur/serum osmol ratio >2, otherwise DI. if low and improves give desmopressin (DDAVP) then it is cranial not nephrogenic
  • baseline urine to serum osmolality >2 avoids need for water deprivation test
