Extensor carpi radialis m.
origin-
insertion-
action-
innervation-
Origin: the lateral supracondylar crest
Insertion: Tuberosities on dorsal surfaces of metacarpals 2 & 3
Action: to extend the carpal joints
Innervation: radial nerve
Common digital extensor m. origin- insertion- action- innervation-
the 4 tendons of this muscles goes to the distal phalanx of the four main digits
Origin- the lateral epicondyle of the humerus
*Insertion- the extensor processes of the distal phalanges of digits 2-5
Action- Extend carpal joints of carpus & digits 2-5
Innervation: Radial nerve
Lateral digital extenseor m. origin- insertion- action- innervation-
Origin- the lateral epicondyle of the humerus
- *Insertion:
- Proximal ends of all phalanges of digits 3-5
- Extensor processes of distal phalanges of these digits
Action - to extend the carpal joints and digits 3-5
Innervation- Radial Nerve
Ulnaris lateralis m.
action-
innervation-
only flexor that lies on the lateral epicondyle that is labeled an extensor
Action - to abduct the manus and flex the carpal joints
Innervation - radial nerve
Supinator m..
action-
innervation-
action: -Rotate forearm laterally (supination)
- Flex elbow joint
innervation - radial nerve
Abductor digiti 1 longus m.
action-
innervation-
lies between radius and ulna and crosses to metacarpal 1
action - to abduct the first digit or pollex and extend the carpal joints
Innervation: radial nerve
