Comprehensive inspection
Focused inspection to response to concerns raised
What is audit?
Used to monitor and improve quality of care
What do CQC expect in regards to audit?
Undertaken for clinical and non-clinical matters
E.g note taking, x-ray, prescribing, recall interval, cross infection control
What is 7 steps of audit sequence?
- Criterion selected
- Standard is agreed for criterion
- Current practice observed
- Performance reviewed against selected standard
- Changes implemented to improve performance
- Effect of change appraised
- Standard reviewed
