CQ Line Oriented Evaluation (641) Flashcards

Q

TCAS RA
- PF Duties
- What does “adjust vertical speed” mean?

A

PF duties:
- AP - Disconnect
- AT - Disconnect
- Pitch (if necessary) pitch to green / AVOID RED
(There may not be a green target pitch box. In this case, maneuvering may not be required, but always avoid the red region)

Adjust vertical speed ALWAYS means REDUCE vertical speed

Q

Windshear During Approach
- Indications
- Actions

A

Indications
WINDSHEAR

Actions
PF
- TOGA (for WSHR guidance)
- Thrust levers - MAX
- Follow vertical guidance
- If no WSHR guidance, pitch 15°, pull to soft stop
- Ensure Spoiler Lever is retracted
- Do NOT change configuration
- Do not turn unless terrain is a factor
- Accept slower speed

No need to disconnect AP, however, do NOT reengage if disconnected

When clear of windshear
- Reduce pitch and power as appropriate
- “Go around, F-2, pos rate, gr up, lat mode, FLC MAN SPD 180”
- Engage automation (AP, AT)
- “make a PIREP”
- “After go-around checklist”

PM
- Verify Thrust Levers - MAX
- If WSHR FMA displays, “You have guidance”, otherwise, “no guidance”
- Verify Spoilers retracted
- Call out altitude trends

Q

Unreliable Airspeed
- Indications (Annunciated and Not Annunciated)
- Actions

A

Recognition / Indications

  • Detected / Annunciated Failures
    • EFIS MISCOMPARE
    • ADS FAIL / DUAL ADS FAIL / ADS FAULT / ADS DEGRADED
  • Not Annunciated
    • Speed or altitude not consistent with pitch/ power
    • Variation between CA and FO airspeed displays
    • Erroneous overspeed or underspeed warnings
    • Radome damage/ loss

Actions
- “Airspeed Unreliable”… “Memory Items”
- “AP - Disengage
- “AT - Select Off
- “FD - Select Off
Disregard FPV
If below safe altitude - MAX CLIMB
- 12.5° Nose Up
- Thrust Levers - MAX
If safe altitude
- 3° nose up and 75% N1
If airspeed and altitude are known/stable, no pitch/power changes are necessary

Run ECL for Airspeed Unreliable
Declare Emergency
Request Block Altitude

Q

Off-Idle Compressor Stall Prevention
(Immediately after start, prior to After Start Checklist)
During normal operations, start both engines. Prior to thrust lever movement for initial taxi, comply with the following procedure:

A

ELEC SYN page - Turn off APU
AIR SYN page - Verify engine bleeds (green flow lines) are supplying the L and R PACKs.
