To make changes in an environment that cause the intended user to feel safe, secure, productive, and in control.
CPTED is Not
The way to end all crime.
A replacement for other
methods of crime prevention.
Something the police should
do themselves.
Something only for architects
and builders to be concerned
with.
OPPORTUNISTIC CRIMES:
Are the 90% that affect everyday life.
Most frequently occur, but easiest to prevent.
SPECIFIC CRIMES:
Planned out, kidnap for ransom, workplace
violence, serial murder,etc.
Focused on by media and increases fear.
