What is Triag
A
The process of rapidly screening sick children after their arrival in hospital, to identify 1 of 3 things
1- emergency signs- immediate care
2- priority signs
3- non-urgent

Emergency signs
A
- absence of breathing
- central cyanosis
- signs of shock (cold hands, capillary refill time longer than 3’s, weak HR, low BP)
- coma
- convulsions
- signs of sever dehydration in a child w/ diahrea (lethargy, sunken eyes, very slow return after pinching the skin)

Compression-Ventilation ratio
A
30:2 is better than 15:1 coz it prevents kidney failure
in infants 1:3
- small puffs of air
- use brachial pulse
