CPA ISC - S2 M4 Change Management Flashcards
What is Logging?
Logging is the process of recording events into logs or databases so that an organization can track activities that occur on a system.
What are Proxy Logs?
Proxy Logs can control internet access and enhance performance for users. Proxy Logs show details such as which sites a user visits, the time, and how long the user viewed certain pages.
What is Patch Management?
Patch Management is the systematic process of identifying specific vulnerabilities or software bugs in operating systems or applications and addressing them with patches, or fixes, between releases.
What are the 5 system conversion methods (when converting their computer systems, such as software, hardware, and data, from one information system to another)?
- Direct
- Parallel
- Pilot
- Phased
- Hybrid
What is the direct conversion method?
The direct conversion method is where an organization ceases the use of the old system immediately and starts the new system immediately.
What is the parallel conversion method?
The parallel conversion method is where an organization implements the new system while the old system is still in use. Then the old system is stopped later.
What is the pilot conversion method?
The pilot conversion method is where an organization starts the new system on a small scale in the test environment.
What is the phased conversion method?
Gradually transitioning to the new system from the old system.
What is User Acceptance Testing?
UAT is assessing an application to determine whether it meets end-user requirements.
What is Closed Loop Verification?
Closed Loop Verification is a critical change management step that involves continuously monitoring the output from the changes, comparing it with the desired outcome, and calibrating the changes to minimize discrepancies from the acceptance criteria.
