CPA Flashcards
1
Q
CPA based assessments
A
- Ear specific thresholds for 2,500, 4 &1 if required (same rules as ABR)
- BC for 2, 500, 4
- DPOAE & noise thresholds @ nominal F2 values of 1.5,2,3,4kHz
- Tymp with LF probe tone
- ART for 1kHz and 2kHz & 500Hz if possible
2
Q
Threshold seeking
A
Same as VRA
3
Q
Indications for SF CPA
A
- Failure to obtain ear-specific thresholds
2. Demonstration of non-responsiveness
4
Q
CPA sound stimulus
A
Continuous FM-warbled
5
Q
KTT
A
- Closed-set task: suitable for young children
2. SDT
6
Q
Normal passing level for CPA
A
20dB HL
7
Q
ANSD inference from CPA
A
Clear normal DPOAE + presence of reliable CPA thresholds @ or >55dB HL —> Almost certain ANSD
High intensity click ABR should be considered
8
Q
Normal hearing (=audiometrically normal)
A
- AC HL @20dB HL with confidence based on behavioural audiometry for all freq.
- No audio metric indications of ANSD
- No retrocochlear indications
* * ABR based audiometry doesn’t rule out slight HL
9
Q
HL present
A
- > 35dBeHL for 500Hz & >30dBeHL for 1,2,4kHz with confidence (ABR)
- > 20dB HL for all freq (CPA & VRA)
- ANSD is strongly indicated
10
Q
PCHL present
A
- BC >30dB eHL OR
- AC >70dB or greater in the absence of BC testing OR
- ANSD strongly indicated
11
Q
Minor CHL
A
Minor elevations of ABR threshold @500Hz ONLY
HL must be reported as present, but PCHL absent
