1-12 days

What are some risk factors for covid 19?
Older age Comorbidities Obesity Smoking Immunosuppression
What is the presentation of covid 19?
Asymptomatic
Characteristic= dyspnoea, persistent cough and fever, altered sense of taste/smell
Fatigue, myalgia, malaise
Chest tightness, sore throat
How is covid 19 diagnosed?
PCR
What investigations should be done in severe covid 19?
FBC, U&Es, LFTs, CRP, ESR
Glucose
Coag screen
CXR, chest CT
What is the management of mild covid 19?
Isolation
Anti pyrexial e.g. paracetamol
What is the management of moderate to severe covid 19?
Admission and monitoring Supportive e.g. oxygen Antipyrexials Ventilation and inhaled vasodilator VTE prophylaxis- enoxaparin, dalteparin, fondaparinux Dexamethasone
What are the more complications of covid 19?
ARDS VTE CV complications Neuro complications- can invade CNS Abnormal liver function AKI
What was the estimated mortality of diagnosed covid 19 at the height of the pandemic?
~7%
