Section 41 of the Criminal Justice Act 1925
Illegal to record, photograph, portrait, or sketch anyone in court, on court grounds, or anyone leaving or entering court precincts, as well as to publish any of such.
Section 9 of the Contempt of Court Act 1981
Illegal to use any audio recording device in court without permission as well as publishing any such recording.
Section 20D of the Juries Act 1974
Anyone Who obtains, solicits, or discloses any detail of statements made, opinions expressed, arguments advanced, or votes cast by jurors during deliberations.
Why can’t you report Jury deliberations
It could be ruled as having interfered with the judicial process by putting the juror at risk of harm from anyone unhappy with the verdict or deters others from duty
Section 11 of the Contempt of Court Act 1981
Court can ban names or other information from being published. Usually used for blackmail, commercially sensitive information, national security, or risk from harm.
Section 46 of the Youth Justice and Criminal Evidence Act 1999
Court can give a lifetime ban on identifying adult witnesses if there is a concern that they are scared or distressed. Only If their testimony could be improved or if it is not diminished.
