Q

A Correlation Coefficient: is a numerical value between minus 1 and plus 1. It conveys two pieces of information:

The strength of the relationship: The nearer a value is to 1 the stronger the relationship is between the variables in
question. Above 0.7 is considered strong, between 0.3 and 0.7 moderate, and below 0.3 weak.

The direction of the relationship: If the sign of the coefficient is positive it means that as one value increases there is a
tendency for the other value to increase. If the sign is negative it means that as one value increases the other one has a
tendency to decrease and vice versa.
