A

coronary artery disease is a narrowing or obstruction of one or more coronary arteries as a result of artherosclerosis, which is an accumulation of lipid-containing plaque in the Arteries

what happens over time when you have atherosclerosis?

A

the plaque causes decreased perfusions of myocardial tissue and inadequate myocardial cardiac oxygen - results in collateral circulation to develop over time to promote some form of circulation
