Coronary Artery Anatomy Flashcards
Vessels of the heart
the heart receives its blood supply during diastole
R and L aortic sinus
Left coronary artery
- left circumflex
- left anterior decending
Left circumflex
- left marginal artery
Right coronary artery
- posterior descending artery
- right marginal artery
most people are right dominant (the PDA is a branch of the RCA) but some people re left dominant (PDA is a branch of the left circumflex) and some are co-dominant where it’s an anastomosis of L and R coronary arteries.
Lateral
on ECG: I, aVL, V5, V6
blood supply: anterior circumflex artery
Inferior
I, II, avF

posterior intraventricular artery
LV and RV (inferior)

Prinzmetal’s angina (PVA)
this is a variant of angina characterised by recurrent episodes of chest pain that usually occurs when a person is at rest, between midnight and early morning.
