Dyssynergia

A

Any disturbance of muscular coordination, resulting in uncoordinated and abrupt movements.

It’s also an aspect of ataxia

Patients split a movement into several smaller movements

Ataxic gait

A

Gait complication that’s seen as a failure of coordination or irregularity of muscular action of the limb segments commonly caused by cerebellar dysfunction

Holmes rebound phenomenon

A

Reflex that occurs when one attempts to move a limb against resistance that’s suddenly removed

Phenomenon will be present in limbs unaffected by disease or illness and strongly exaggerated in limbs exhibiting signs of spasticity
