How do we prevent corrosion
A
- Paint scheme
- ICCP
- Sacrifical anodes
7
Q
Principle operation of ICCP
A
Hull must be negative when compared to silver ref anode to prevent corrosion, a current is applied to hull to maintain 0.8v.
8
Q
Under/Over protect cathodics
A
- Under-no corrosion protection
- Over - Blistering of paint,hydrogen embrittlment

- D=on amp assembly-record v output,ship speed,and each ref anode
- M=portable ref electrode 8 ft below waterline,close to hull(not when ship alongside,stopped @ seaor moored)
