Control of mincturition Flashcards
Which nerves control mincturition
- Hypogastric n
- Pelvic n
- Pudendal n
Hypogastric n: origin, type (sympathetic, parasympathetic, somatic), receptor, action
Origin: L2-L4, and caudal mesenteric ganglion
Type: sympathetic
Receptors/action: causes accumulation of urine
- Beta2: causes relaxation on detrustor muscle
- Alpa1: causes contraction on smooth m. of internal sphinter
Pelvic n: origin, type (sympathetic, parasympathetic, somatic), receptor, action
Origin: S1-S2
Type: parasympathetic
Receptors/action: on detrustor muscle, causes contraction resulting in urination
Pudendal n: origin, type (sympathetic, parasympathetic, somatic), receptor, action
Origin: S1-S2
Type: somatic nerve
Receptors/action: main nerve of perineum, carries sensation to genitalia and skin perineal region and gives motor supply to on striated muscle of external sphincter, causes it to close
