Paraphernalia and products link to materialism which provides a sense of identity for the consumers.
Despite consumers holding no legal right to the popular culture, they will declare “ownership” of the culture and this group plays a large role in determining what the producers create.
Producers
Generally towards gaining a profit off of pop culture
Under pressure by the consumers to produce popular culture paraphernalia which impress the consumers.
Can also take away the authenticity of the culture
