Sensitivity to this issue in all areas of Judaism

There is now thanks to the work of Blu + other feminists, even in Orthodox Jewish divorce courts, women advocates Toanot (Women advocates that can plead on behalf of women) - direct impact of elevating the roles of women in the Jewish Orthodox context

Caused people to re-think divorce laws, even in the most traditional communities. In Egypt there has been a radical transformation of divorce laws

Women can now study the Talmud

There have been Orthodox communities that have set up schools that bring Talmud study and advanced Jewish law - Halacha. For example the Stern School in the Jewish University in NY Yeshiva (Greenberg’s Alma Mater)

Israeli Rabbinate has approved of women acting as YOACHOT, Halakhic advisors on personal issues such as family purity (Niddah Laws)

Q

Impact: Leadership in Orthodox Feminism

A

Orthodox women are now serving on Israeli Jewish councils

They are now congregational interns (female equivalent to assistant Rabbis)

They are now TOANOT

There are times where Jewish women can count in the official Minyan (min. no. of people to make a proceeding legal)

Some more Liberal Orthodox Rabbi’s listening to Greenberg + feminists opined in favour of calling women to read the Torah in mixed services and leading parts of the service which do not require a minyan under certain conditions
