Discuss contrast induce nephropathy
A
Multiple large retrospective cohort studies including high risk patients
- egfr >45 amonght the generall population with GFR >45 CI-AKI generally does not occur
- EGFR 30-44 –> SMall risk exact incidence is uncertain
- EGFR <30 risk of CI AKI in these patients appears to be higher

List factors to consider prior to the administration of contrast
A
1) allergy
2) hyperthyroidism
3) renal impairment as above
4) history of DM particualrly if on metoformin due to risk of renal impairment
5) Age >60
6) other nephrotoxic mediactions
7) sickle cell anaemia
