Precipitates bronchospasm (asthma caution)
Pt’s on theophylline, methylxanthines, tegretol, persantine
Known a fib/flutter
Pregnancy
Cardiac transplant pt’s may be sensitive
Albuterol
Synergistic w/ other sympathomimetics
Diabetes, hyperthyroidism, cerebrovascular disease use caution
Amiodarone
Bradycardia 2nd or 3rd degree heart blocks unless pacemaker Cardiogenic shock Hypotension Pulmonary congestion
Aspirin
Bleeding ulcer Hemorrhagic Hemophilia Hypersensitivity Children/adolescents
Atropine
Hypersensitivity (belladonna) Glaucoma Tachycardia Obstructive GI disease Hepatic disease Renal disease Myasthenia gravis Thyrotoxicosis Mobitz type 2 or 3rd degree block
