A

Bidding Requirements is the first component of the stack WITHIN the Bidding Documents.

Bidding Documents is the whole document that excludes the contract modification.

A

Tender may submit alternative tender that may change the materials/product design/equipment from those approved under Contract Documents.

What does Addenda do?

A

Any change in detail, additions, corrections and contract conditions BEFORE BIDS OPEN.

Any discrepancies in the bidding documents must respond/issue addenda to all bidders.

Process of that change must be stated clearly to all bidders.

Becomes part of the bid documents and will be issued as addendum.

A

A

The more contractors (structual, electrical, etc) in the contract will increase the likelihood of discrepancies and errors in the contract writing.

A

Some is required to show site and show extent of work

A

The specifications are written in instructions to show details of the drawing that can not be shown graphically

Helps to guide bidders in producing cot estimates for their proposals

Helps to guide contractors in:

  • construction methology
  • procurement of materials (process of buying materials)
  • performance of work

Provide information regarding:

  • quality of materials
  • quality of workmanshio
  • erection and installation methods
  • test and inspections

What is included in the Supplementary Conditions

A

Also known as Special Conditions/Provisions.

  • It modifies General Conditions
  • Indicates Deletes from GC
  • Indicates any additions to GC

Can also be an additional common standards for a specific city. Ex: City of Surrey Supplementary Master Municipal Construc. Doc.

OR

Additional legal requirements that applies to the project.

A

Any additional drawings that was added to the GC of Contract and their specifications in writing.

A

It will be dealt with a different process called CHANGE ORDERS
