Consultation Script Flashcards
Pros and Cons
There are pros and cons to what we are going to talk about, and my job is to give you the pros as well as the cons so you can make an informed decision for yourself. The pros are simple. We are the premier Regenerative Medicine Clinic in the United States and offer the best treatment in medicine; we take a multifaceted approach to address the underlying problem, not just the symptoms of the problem. This is not a pain medication, an NSAID, or a steroid, and it’s not toxic to you like those things are. This treatment is meant to be a long-term solution to your problem, we personally guarantee that we will give you the best chance of success. Your body has an innate ability to heal any tissue. Whether it’s cartilage, a tendon, a joint, or even your skin when you’ve had a cut. We are simply taking the best of what your body has to offer, concentrating in a way that your body isn’t anymore, and reintroducing it back into the affected area so they can finally heal. The cons are simple too, it’s not covered by insurance and it’s not entirely inexpensive, but we will go over the price of your protocol and I will be very upfront with you.
Five Treatments
We are going to talk about five different treatments that will form the protocol for your (insert treatment areas): Class IV deep tissue laser, Plasma Therapy, Platelet Rich Plasma or PRP, Alpha 2 Macroglobulin or A2M, and Stem Cell Therapy. I will give you an overview of each treatment individually and how they work together in the protocol that is recommended for you by our provider. We are going to go through a lot of information so feel free to stop and ask questions at any point.
Laser
Let’s start with Class IV Deep Tissue Laser and Plasma. Given that you want to move forward with care, and at the recommendation of our provider, we will start with Class IV Deep Tissue Laser and Plasma Therapy today. We implement Laser therapy to help get a quicker response from our other treatments. It’s the same type of laser all the NFL teams use to recover quicker from week to week. We simply use it because it will do three things: decrease sensitivity to pain receptors, decrease inflammation, and increase blood flow. All good things, but we don’t use it as a stand-alone therapy. The analogy I give is that the laser brings the water to a boil so when we put our ingredients in, we can cook.
Plasma
Now Let’s talk about Plasma. To isolate it, we draw your blood, take it to our lab, spin it down in a centrifuge right here in the office. The parts of the blood separate like oil and water, and we concentrate the growth factors or healing properties of the blood and re-introduce them into the affected joints. This will decrease inflammation, slow down degeneration, and prep the joint for the rest of your treatments. It is urgent that plasma is administered as early as it can be in a disease process, which is why we always recommend starting treatment as quickly as possible.
A2M
We’ll see you back in a few weeks and at that point we will administer A2M, which is my favorite treatment because it has the ability to accelerate the success rates of our protocols, A2M stands for Alpha 2 Macroglobulin, which is another blood component from you. For the second time we will draw you blood, but this time we will take it a step further. Inside our lab we will run it through a protein separator, which functions like a kidney or a filter, and filters out the bigger Alpha 2 molecule. We then re-introduce the proteins back into the affected joints, where it will bind to damaged tissue and attempt to halt the injury. This is the ONLY natural biotic treatment in medicine so far that has been shown to stop the further breakdown of cartilage and soft tissue and start the regenerative process. That’s huge!
Stem Cell
About four weeks after A2M we will administer bone marrow aspirate which contains your Stem Cells, we will go into this in more detail, and for good reason. Let’s start with what a stem cell is, by definition, a Stem Cell is just an unprogrammed cell, or a young cell that hasn’t been told what it’s going to be when it grows up. Every stem cell has two abilities that your other cells don’t: First they can replicate and multiply on their own, undergoing mitosis, and secondly, they are programable. There are two general sources of Stem Cells that are recognized for orthopedic applications: source number one are fetal stem cells, which are not what we need for your condition. The other source is the best source for your condition because they are YOUR stem cells.
In a simple 5 minute procedure, we take bone marrow from the iliac crest of your hip, spin it down and separate out your stem cells as well as PRP and introduce them to your injury. This is a wonderful source of true, autologous stem cells, meaning coming from you. Not everyone is a candidate for this source based on complex health factors but based on your health history, this is a great option for you. Stem cell therapy will continue the process of healing damaged tissue and it is administered one time.
PRP
Finally, a few weeks after your stem cell treatment, we will administer something that will tell those stem cells where to go. Platelet Rich Plasma, or PRP is another blood component that will recruit your own body’s stem cells to go to the damaged area and tell those stem cells what to do. We will draw you blood again, separate the PRP in our lab, and reintroduce it into the affected area. You can think of PRP as the “captain”; it directs the stem cells to areas of damage. As injuries linger, less stem cells go the affected area. PRP accelerates and promotes cell concentration back into the joint so you can heal.
Plasma and Assessment
Once you’ve completed all these treatments, we bring you back three months later for a booster session of Plasma Therapy and an assessment of progress.
We will administer one plasma booster injection to accelerate your body’s healing response. This is our secret ingredient for long lasting result. The other reason for your plasma booster appointment is to evaluate your progress and ask you about the goals that you gave me in the beginning of this consultation. Just so we are on the same page, are these the goals you’d like to achieve? (List goals from beginning). Perfect. I’m excited to achieve these with you.
Wrap UP
Your treatment includes a total of 5 laser sessions, 2 plasma, 1 A2M, 1 stem cell and 1 PRP.
Close
Now that we have gone over your protocol. I’d like to ask you some admittance questions for our facility:
We will not be using and drugs or surgery to treat you… is that how you would like to be treated?
We will not be altering your lifestyle and there is no downtime, does that make sense to you?
Is your health your number one priority?
Great. We can absolutely help you and accept you into care at our facility.
The total cost of the protocol for (your treatment area), is eighty-five hundred / twelve thousand five hundred / etc.
Does this sound like something that will help you?
(answer)
Just curious… what specifically about this do you think might help you?
