Statutes, also known as acts, are laws passed by a legislature.
Federal statutes are the laws passed by Congress, usually with the approval of the President.
TYPES OF LAW:
—statutory law
—case law
—administrative law
—Statutory law is made up of laws that have been passed by a government’s deliberative body, such as Congress in the American context.
—Case law, also used interchangeably with common law, is law that is based on precedents, that is the judicial decisions from previous cases, rather than law based on constitutions, statutes, or regulations.
— Administrative law, is made up of regulations and administrative case law that governs government agencies and bodies.
In most cases, administrative law finds its legal source through statutory law.
