- Bicameral: 2 house legislature
- Had a House of Representatives: representatives based on population
What was the New Jersey Plan?
- Unicameral: one house legislature
- # of representatives are same for each state no matter how big or large in population they are

The Great Compromise
- Bicameral legislature
- Senate had two rep. per state (helped New Jersey Plan)
- House of Representatives had # of representatives based on population (helped the Virginia Plan) - Both houses must pass each law
3/5 Compromise
Helped out Southern states because they want more representatives, and they did this by insisting that their slaves counted as people. The 3/5 compromise explains that only 3/5 of the slaves in each state counted as people in the census and for taxes.
