What is the purpose of the CMR?
It is a duplicate of the MAL that lists both expendable and non-expendable allowance items. The only difference is that it also list the serial numbers for all serialized items, unlike the MAL.

The Commanding/Accountable Officer (CO/AO)?
What is the purpose of the Interim Receipt?
It creates an audit trail for any item issued or received by a Responsible Officer.
How often do CMR reconciliations occur between the Supply Office and the Responsible Unit/Subordinate Unit?
Once a quarter or upon change of RO. A semi-annual reconciliation may be authorized instead of a quarterly reconciliation, when approved in writing by the unit CO.
What documents will the Using Unit prepare and forward to the Responsible Unit in preparation for a CMR reconciliation?
An update letter and two copies of the CMR.
