With this boycott there were major consequences for bus companies losing a lot of money, $3000 a day (this was because the majority of people that used buses as transport were black people)

The Montgomery District court decided buses were not ‘Separate but equal’ therefore Montgomery city council had to desegregate the buses, but this did not include interstate buses.

The Montgomery City Council challenged this and took it to the Supreme Court, but Once the supreme court declared segregation on buses this was then a huge step in the civil rights movement.
